To all year-long Outbounds and Inbounds:

During the 2010 -2011 exchange year, please remember to send monthly reports to your correspondent.

These are the things that we want to hear about on a regular basis, about once a month:

School and friends, Rotary Club visits, presentations, your counsellor, and health or homesickness and what you did about it.

Also, let us know when you are moving to a new host family and how you are getting along with your host family.

We want to know the things you've seen and places you've visited!

If you would like to post photos or stories on this website, please email them to your correspondent.

We want to hear from you!

the experience I had with Rotary has had a lasting impact on my life. It’s been ten years this year and it’s still one of the best years of my life.

I hold so many memories from that year, plus grew so much, and it has shaped so much of my life since.

I had the opportunity to go back to Japan for a weekend this year and it was really special for me to meet up with an old Rotary family.

         Amanda

I graduated from the University of Guelph in 2005 with my degree in International Development and am hoping some day to do development work with kids.

After graduating (from University) I went to Zimbabwe and volunteered with Dumisani Nyoni's (Zimbabwe exchange student, 1998-1999) mom's NGO there for two months. it was really great to see Dumi in his own country, after 7 years.

When, and if, I ever get home to Canada, I would love to help out at one of your events. Thanks for everything, and keep on doing the great work that you do... I know I'm not the only one that you have impacted.

I am so glad I came on this exchange, it was one of the best decision I could have ever made!
I am glad as well that I got to come to this lovely district!
Thank you very much for this opportunity and for having me this year.
You will never be forgotten!

From Rotarian Sherri:

...It will be 23 years this summer that I left for Sweden on the Rotary International Youth Exchange Program, which is hard to believe because in some respects it seems like yesterday.  My experience there has influenced every facet of my life, it is now part of who I am.  I learned a language and made lifelong friendships with host families and fellow exchange students whom I still keep in touch with today.  Now, as YEX Chair for the Kingston Rotary Club, my goal is to make sure every exchange student has a wonderful experience, both in Canada and abroad during their exchange year.

"We have had today our first inbounds meeting for District 1660 and 1770, where we made a formation to inbound students and to host families.

Our two governors were with us and got a diploma to rebounds, and every inbound student introduced himself.

It has been a beautiful day for everyone !"
